Terms of Service

These terms cover the YouTube Summarizer app and the summarizer service it calls. They do not cover the ClipoStack video studio, which has its own terms. By using the app, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

The service

Paste a YouTube link that has captions, including auto-generated captions. You receive a summary, key points, and a takeaway. Summaries are written by software and can be incomplete or wrong. Check the source video before you rely on a summary.

YouTube Summarizer is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

Accounts

You can summarize without an account. An account is required to keep a history, save a video for later, favorite a summary, subscribe, or buy a credit pack. You are responsible for activity on your account.

Credits

One credit covers one minute of video, rounded up, with a minimum of one credit. A new install includes 100 free credits each calendar month. Unused monthly credits do not roll over. While a subscription is active, each month includes 100 credits. A credit pack adds 1,000 credits that do not expire and can be bought again. Pack credits are spent after the monthly allowance. The price is shown in the app before you pay.

Subscriptions and credit packs

Subscriptions and credit packs are sold by Apple on the App Store or by Google on Google Play. A subscription renews until you cancel it in your store account settings. A credit pack is a one-time purchase. Refunds follow the store’s rules. Canceling a subscription stops the next renewal. Credits already granted for the current period stay until that period ends, and unused monthly credits still do not roll over.

Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully. Do not try to bypass credit checks, overload the service, or submit a link you are not allowed to process. We may refuse a request or suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Availability

The service is provided as-is. Features, credit amounts, prices, and availability can change. A video without captions cannot be summarized.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make from a summary, or for credits you cannot use because a store is unavailable or YouTube removes a video.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Continuing to use the app after that date means you accept the updated terms.
